What is your favourite inspirational quote?

“You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner.

You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colors fill your mind until there is nothing left to do but explode. There are no wrong answers. Inspiration is everything. Sit back, relax, and take it all in.

Now, go out and create something.”

– Jac Vanek

“Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength – carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time.”

– Corrie Ten Boom

What is a little known fact about you?

My family and I are originally from Lebanon. However, we moved to the United Arab Emirates when I was two years old and then finally immigrated to Canada ten years later. I have had a culturally diverse upbringing and because of this, I am actually bilingual, speaking both English and Arabic.

Why do you make a great Schulich Leader?

To me leadership is about bringing people together towards a common goal and inviting the involvement of all peers and members. Others may feel leadership is about taking the front seat and dictating everything, but I believe the best leadership is where everyone gets to feel part of something bigger and feel significant. Throughout my high school years, I have had the privilege of successfully leading several robotics teams and school community committees toward our numerous goals and competitions. I believe that seeing the potential and value in all individuals is what leads to a successful outcome.
